Hi,

Settings / Configure DigiKam > Collections > Setting as Ignored Directories

Similarly, allow an album to be freely limited to certain file extensions without having to create filters.

Currently parasitic *.gif or *.ico files are cataloged if present !

Add Ignored file with extension or, only accept files with extension.

Best regard,

This function is already included in digiKam. For Mime types that are included in digiKam by default, you can simply add them to the corresponding fields in the digiKam setup under View-> Mime types or ignore them by prefixing them with a "-" character. So in your example "-gif -ico".

I thought of the Mime type as a normalization reserving a file extension for a program to allow it to be opened on a single click. But indeed "Mime Type" = "File Extension".

All my excuses Maik ! Subject closed.
