This would give existing kickoff (and other launchers if given their own window name!) a unique bonus customisation option to mimic Windows 11/other operating systems with non-standard launcher positions. Also helps with theming the dock as the kickoff launcher is designed to play nicely with a floating dock that stretches to the edges of the screen, but floating starts 8px inwards by default. This isn't something we want to do, sorry. There's already code to try to center the popup on the panel if its position on the panel is close to the center. Ah that's a shame. I can appreciate why it isn't possible to modify in the settings, but it would make things a lot easier for custom layouts if kickoff could be filtered out via the window behaviours settings from other plasmoids. I was hoping to get a KDE dev environment set up over the weekend (or sometime soon!) to play about with and would be happy to give this a go for kickoff (ie. giving kickoff a unique window name) if it wasn't super technical. |
