STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install 22.04 on x86 tablet, Wayland mode.
2. Try to use Maliit
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
- Maliit does only open once, cannot be closed, if i pull down, never comes back, no matter if an input filed is selected or the icon pushed on the tray.

Maliit worked well on 20.04 -based neon versions (Wayland) :(

EXPECTED RESULT
Maliit or Onboard is working normally.

Additional issue : Maliit does not accept Shift. Shift is seeming to be active, but it types in lowercase.

Can't reproduce on Manjaro with either Maliit from the repos (2.3.1) or from git. Afaict Neon is still on 2.2.0, maybe that simply needs updating

Looks like the same symptoms as I have, maybe (463261)? 

Maliit is at "2.3.1-0xneon+22.04+jammy+release+build8" for me on latest Neon Jammy, still does not work :(

maliit framework is at 2.3.0 and maliit-keyboard is 2.3.1 in user edition.  It is activated in Virtual Keyboard module in System Settings?

Hi,

If no one has this problem, it can be closed as i switched from KDE to Gnome on X on that device, mainly because of Wayland's high RAM usage. (Sadly KDE touch is not usable on X.)
