Sentry Crash Report:

Description Tryz 2022-12-26 16:05:04 UTC
SUMMARY
***
Without any established pattern, sometimes the floating panel does not deflate and the plasmoids become irresponsive or boom completely.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Plasma normally
2. Use it normally by opening, maximizing and minimizing windows.
3. The bug appears, but not always and not in every session, it's really random and I can't always record my screen because sometimes it just doesn't happen and sometimes it does.

OBSERVED RESULT
The panel does not deflate involving the stability of my system, which for some reason feels notoriously buggy.

EXPECTED RESULT
The panel deflates, like 90% of the cases.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.101.0-
Qt Version: 5.15.7

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The problem is only corrected until the session is restarted.

The panel should de-float when there aren't any maximized windows. Are you saying that sometimes this works, and sometimes not?

Are you using X11 with fractional scaling and the PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING environment variable set?

I think the problem can be closed, for some reason I stop having this problem completely under the same conditions and system as when I did the report.

OK great! The logic has been partially re-done for 5.27 anyway, so hopefully it's more reliable now.
