SUMMARY
Please watch the attached screen recording and observe how the panel becomes translucent when you hold down the key combination "enable or disable browse mode".

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set keyboard shortcut for "enable or disable browse mode".
2. Hold it for 10 seconds.
3. Observe how panel becomes translucent.

OBSERVED RESULT
Panel becomes translucent

EXPECTED RESULT
Panel does not become translucent

Where did you set the shortcut for "Enable or disable browse mode"? Which app or part of Plasma owns it? I ask because I can't find it in System Settings > Shortcuts.

Sorry not called "enable or disable browse mode" it's called "toggle overview" and is on meta+w by default.

Thanks. I think this is intentional since the panel begins to become transparent when Overview opens. If you're holding down the shortcut, it's repeatedly opening and closing really fast and never leaving that state. So... don't do that. :) 

FWIW on my system with Wayland, holding it down doesn't repeatedly open and close it.
