Reproduce:
- press the sleep button in the Plasma "start menu".
- Session locks, computer goes to sleep.
- Remove power.
- Computer wakes, makes the "power is removed" notification sound and stays like this.
This is not ideal, as the computer is in sleep to reserve battery power, yet when I remove power (so battery saving is even more important), the computer wakes.

If I understood the situation correctly and there is no hidden motivation that I cannot see (which I can totally imagine, in that case pls enlighten me), than I think this easily qualifies as a 15min bug.

Cannot reproduce.

What kind of hardware do you have? When it's sleeping, how do you normally wake it up?

Hi Nate,

the hardware I use is TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen6 with an Nvidia GPU (that is usually turned off, using PRIME/Optimus, to save power on the hybrid GPU setup). The laptop can be powered via a barrel plug or USB-C. I experienced it with the barrel plug, using the official power adapter. In case you need any other hw information, I gladly provide them. 

 Usually I wake it from sleep by pressing any button (usually I use, Ctrl/Shift), or stroking the touchpad.

Thanks. Those things don't wake up my system; I actually have to press the power button. I asked because each hardware is set up differently. So in your case, where input actions trigger wake-up, it's possible that unplugging the power cord triggers an action that matches that filter.

I don't know how to debug it any further though. Hopefully someone else more knowledgeable shows up to help.

Experiencing the same issue (system info below). Plugging AC in or out always wakes up the system, even if the lid is closed. There is an EFI/BIOS setting to disable this behavior, but it has no effect.

It sounds like this is an upstream bug in the kernel or upower that only affects certain hardware. I'd recommend that affected folks open bug reports against Upower at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/upower/-/issues
