SUMMARY
It would be a great addition to Vertical Tabs if the tabs where mostly hidden(only icons show) and the tabs could expand on mouse hover - already in Microsoft Edge

1. Install Vertical Tabs extension

OBSERVED RESULT
Vertical Tabs persistent on left of screen 

EXPECTED RESULT
Vertical Tabs persistent on left of screen(only icon), but expand on mouse hover
