Thank you for the bug report! Please note that Plasma 5.25.5 is not supported for much longer by KDE; supported versions are 5.24, and 5.26 or newer. If at all possible please upgrade to a supported version and verify that the bug is still happening there. If you're unsure how to do this, contact your distributor about it. In theory, this is Kwin's job, not Plasma's; if an app freezes and doesn't close normally, you should see a Kwin popup that gives you the option to kill the application forcefully. To be fair, Plasma provides a "Close" action in the task manager right click menu. It could swap that action with a "Force quit", for example, when Ctrl+Alt is pressed and held down. Generally the concept of alternative actions with keyboard modifiers is not really discoverable but very powerful. I think KDE/Plasma could use more of that. |
