Description Daniel 2022-11-17 22:23:35 UTC
SUMMARY
Sometimes, after a suspend the lockscreen is not there, just a black screen with a working cursor is displayed. Login is not possible, as no text field or buttons are displayed. Unlocking via "loginctl unlock-sessions" is also not possible. (So **NOT A DUPLICATE** of #457284)

This actually happens to me on two different machines. I'm pretty sure that it started with Plasma 5.26.3

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. suspend the laptop

OBSERVED RESULT
A black screen is displayed, with a movable cursor.

EXPECTED RESULT
The normal lockscreen should be displayed, login should be possible.

Some more details: Restarting via "plasmashell --replace" is not possible, and restarting the display/login manager (sddm) also brings no success. plasmashell seems to be a defunct process when this happens, so I am not sure if its a kwin bug or sddm or …

It seems to be a bug in the linux Kernel as it does not happen with the LTS kernel, so I'll close it.
