(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kdm
Version: KDM (using KDE 3.0.2 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Debian stable Packages
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

One of the difficulties I encounter with using KDE/Linux for my workstation is the lack of ability to have my desktop able to be detached allow someone else to use my workstation and allow me to connect remotely and continue where I left off.

I would think that between KDM and Xnest there should be some way to allow something like this beyond just having multiple VC's that do not allow for detaching and reattaching sessions without actually killing the programs and restarting them. (Such as being able to open XMMS start playing some music detach and allow someone to use the machine.)

You can run multiuser system in a much powerful way than XP
You don't need to do the switch thing.
You can start another X-session to another display such a :1 :2 ..
The x-display at :0 will keep running and you can swtich users that way.
