Screenshot of the thumbnail view

It appears that since 22.08.3, gwenview can no longer display CR2 images (Canon Raw). Dolphin and Okular do fine with the same images. This occured after a recent world update (which I do several times a week) of my Gentoo box, which pulled in Plasma 5.26.2 and KDE 22.08.3 (with kde-frameworks 5.99.0).

When I open a directory containing CR2's, gwenview prints
org.kde.kdegraphics.gwenview.lib: Could not generate thumbnail for file "..."
for each file in the directory, and the thumbnails come in as "no entry traffic sign" icons. A subsequent clock does enter the image viewer, but the screen just shows the red "loading" box, with no output on the console. See the attached screenshots. Apparently there is no --verbose option, so there really is no info as to what really caused the failure.

A simple rebuild of gwenview didn't work. I'll try a full rebuild of all dependencies next, for good measure.

As workaround try to uninstall KImage plugins. If works, the fix should be available on next release: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463132

Whatever it was, it's fixed as of 24.12.2.
