It is possible for many devices to select a profile with just the output (or the input) of the card, which effectively disables and hides the microphone settings for it. Maybe that isn't possible for your device? In that case you can always mute just the input or the output independently, but I get it is less convenient. Unfortunately the screenshot didn't get attached. If you can, please try again and upload the screenshot with the Profile selector.
