STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open Gwenview 
2. click on 'Network' under 'Remote' section of the Places panel
3. double-click on 'Shared folders (SMB)'

OBSERVED RESULT
Gwenview does not find my samba server. Dolphin does.

EXPECTED RESULT
Gwenview finds the samba server like Dolphin

Can reproduce. Works in the file dialogs too.

Same problem
"smb://" in Dolphin or the file dialogs lists my Samba servers
"smb://" in Gwenview doesn't

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with Gwenview 25.08.0 (the latest released version)?

The bug persists on neon unstable.

Bug still persistent on Gwenview 25.12.0.

When directly opening an image on an SMB share, Gwenview shows its throbber indefinitely.
