Indeed, we want to prevent this. https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kscreen/-/merge_requests/138 will prevent you from saving when it's in an invalid state like this. Created attachment 152462 [details] Screenshot SUMMARY Screens can be positioned far apart in kscreens, leaving a physical gap between them. In contrast to letting them overlap, I really do not see any real use-case here, but on the contrary, it introduces bugs such as #449140. Therefore it'd be convenient if kscreen made sure, that screens are always connected somewhere at their edges at least.
