Description Nataniel 2022-09-25 16:10:21 UTC
SUMMARY
***
Whenever I am in a room with weak wifi signal (i.e. in an other room than the one where the wifi box is), a prompt asks for the wifi password every time I loose the connection. I have Kwallet configured with an empty password and autologin.

***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect to known wifi
2. Move to a location with weak signal, and loose the signal for a few seconds
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
A prompt asking the password appears. Entering the password connects to the wifi again, until it looses the signal again.

EXPECTED RESULT
NetworkManager reconnects to the known wifi without asking for the known password.

I second this issue:
I'm currently using a private network with a quite weak connection.
Probably when it is interrupted, a password dialog pops up for this network. The dialog box is empty (no passwd shown)

Actual behaviour:
One has to enter the passkey for the network. If the password is complex, it has to be looked up somewhere and entered digit by digit.
After entering the correct key, it does not necessarily reconnect.

Expected behaviour:
The system tries to reconnect without showing a dialog
The dialog box should have the password prefilled, with the option to display it.

Sorry we were not able to look into this. Can you still reproduce the issue in Plasma 6.3.5 or later? Thanks a lot!

I would love to retest this, but I will be in the problematic no before August...

At least not for my case: User has PW and wallet with PW

I have the same issue on my system. When I cancel the password prompt and try to reconnect to the network again, it works fine without re-entering the password.
