list of apps removal, creation and fully replacing:
- additions:
- - kde game center
- - kde addons (single app to manage themes, applets, widgets, wallpapers, etc)
- - prebuilt kde social media (siilar to mobile fedilab. app to manage fediverse apps)
- - including bug reporter in main menu and most info/about windows
- - kcharacters app (emoji and unicode copy/paste)

- optional additions:
- - wysiwyg html page creator (like ms word)
- - 3d art maker (blender-like)
- - audio/video recorder (in addition to kdenlive)
- - 2d art/pixelart editor (like ms paint, simple one and prebuilt)
- - kde office (koffice)

- removals and replaces:
- - remove konqueror and fully replace with falkon or firefox (due to lack of updates and insecure code)
- - full removal of kwrite and replacing it with kate
- - removal of ksysguard in favor of system monitor

- also :
- - moving theme management out of settings as a standalone app
- - removal of developer apps (like qt apps - assistant, explorer etc) in stable kde versions

- also v2:
- - new version of kde : editor (would feature all developer apps as prebuilt ones unlike stable version)

PS: sorry for too much wanting from you but i think it should be like this for ages :/

PS2: will update this.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm afraid dumping a list of request like this isn't very useful. At minimum there should be one report per item, but even then requests for creating an entirely new app usually isn't going to achieve anything
Comment 2 hacknorris 2022-09-24 19:30:18 UTC
take it as a tasklist then... cant modify as published

> additions:
> - kde game center
We have plenty of games in KDE. Are you suggesting we combine them all into one app?

> - kde addons (single app to manage themes, applets, widgets, wallpapers, etc)
That's what Discover is for

> - prebuilt kde social media (siilar to mobile fedilab. app to manage fediverse apps)
There's Choqok and Tokodon for that

> - kcharacters app (emoji and unicode copy/paste)
There's KCharSelect and an emoji picker

> optional additions:
> - wysiwyg html page creator (like ms word)
> - 3d art maker (blender-like)
Those kinds of apps aren't just something you create overnight. It takes a dedicated and motivated team years to get even close to what Blender offers

> - 2d art/pixelart editor (like ms paint, simple one and prebuilt)
There's Kolourpaint

> - kde office (koffice)
There used to be KOffice, which was then renamed to Calligra, which still exists (although not very actively developed)

> removals and replaces:
> - remove konqueror and fully replace with falkon or firefox (due to lack of updates and insecure code)
Nobody is making you use Konqueror if you don't want to. Also Konqueror and Falkon use the exact same browser engine, so there is virtually no dfifference in security and Konqueror is actually more actively developed than Falkon

> - full removal of kwrite and replacing it with kate
KWrite and Kate are different tools for a different target audience

> - removal of ksysguard in favor of system monitor
That's already done

> - moving theme management out of settings as a standalone app
Why?

> - removal of developer apps (like qt apps - assistant, explorer etc) in stable kde versions
That's a question of packaging/distribution

Yeah I';m afraid this giant list isn't actionable. Please see https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting#Step_1:_Make_sure_it.27s_a_valid_bug_or_feature_request to learn how to file a valid and actionable bug report.

Specifically:
> Do not file Bugzilla tickets for vague or subjective matters, over-broad requests for giant changes to everything

I encouraged you to file issue reports (plural), not one giant one. :) Issue reports need to be about one topic, narrowly targeted, and actionable.

If you're not familiar with the process, I would encourage you to read through https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting first. That should give you an idea of how to make an actionable report. Thanks!
