Thank you for your bug report! However this bug report was created/provided previous to 01/01/2023 and also has not received any updates since before 01/01/2025. Unfortunately KDE neon no longer provides updates for anything older than noble 24.04 based edition's. Please upgrade to KDE neon noble and if you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report. Thanks for understanding! |
Created attachment 152295 [details] sddm logs from syslog SUMMARY Installed updates today using Discover and Offline updates. There was an error during update of one of the packages. After this, the login screen no longer appeared. This error appeared in syslog: sddm-greeter[1004]: Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (5.15.5) with this library (5.15.6) I was able to recover by running startplasma-wayland from another shell, then reinstalling the list of packages shown in /var/log/apt/history.log manually. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon 5.25 KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.98.0 Qt Version: 5.15.6 Kernel Version: 5.15.0-48-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION When I was able to login, I did get a message about a Failed Offline Update with an offer to repair. But this was not useful when I couldn't even login before. The failed package was pipewire: Failed to update 1 package Error while installing package: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/alsa-lib/libasound_module_ctl_pipewire.so', which is also in package pipewire-audio-client-libraries I'm not sure how (or if) this led to the Qt5 library incompatibility.
