STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start KolourPaint.
2. Select the "Text" tool.
3. Draw a rectangular text region.
4. Try to type brazilian portuguese words containing accents: pão, mão, Paraná, Pelé.

OBSERVED RESULT:
Accents are not displayed.

EXPECTED RESULT:
Type brazilian words should be shown containing theirs accents.

Accents are not displayed when typing brazilian words: pão, mão, Paraná, Pelé.

I think this is the same problem I have fixed with #456498.
With this version I can enter e.g. "ã"
