SUMMARY
The Default profile of console is Read only, so it stands to reason you can't modify it. But a new user that wants to modify the terminal does not really know it. He has to specifically know to go and create a user profile which no one else does(this is a KDE specific oddity). I think this saves a little bit of time on the first boot.
