Description Robert Riemann 2022-07-25 08:35:00 UTC
This is a feature request.

When I add to contacts an address and then browse later to that contact, I find in the contact overview the address and can click on it. This opens the address on Google Maps.

I think it is against the spirit of free software and KDE to redirect the user without prior opt-in to Google Maps. Hence, I suggest that we make this configurable as we do already for phone numbers and SMS. Maybe it is an option to use the geo: URI handler instead and configure the behaviour on OS level?

Alternatively, we could offer:

1. open in Marble
2. open on OpenStreetMap
3. open using a self-configured URL

For me it opens `https://www.qwant.com/maps/?q=` in the browser.

Additionally to the suggestion in the OT, I'd like to add, that it'd be in general a good idea to add a info button [?] to any clickable URLs, which explain where the URL is opened on click.
Right click this is absolutely unclear and can lead to surprises and in the worst case to situations, where you give information to a 3rd party, which you did not meant to share.
