SUMMARY
When searching in applications menu, list item currently under mouse cursor is selected (instead of the first one), *even if mouse is not moved*.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Place cursor in the area where search results in applications menu will appear
2. Open applications menu using hotkey
3. Search something

OBSERVED RESULT
When searching, item currently under cursor is highlighted

EXPECTED RESULT
First item should highlighted when search is performed. Item under cursor should be highlighted only after mouse is moved.

Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 36

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I use Plasma on Wayland.
AFAIK it was changed in Plasma 5.25. I remember previous versions behaving as expected.
