SUMMARY
There used to be a 'Read Only Mode' in the editor. It has gone missing. See attached screen shot.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any text file in Kate.
2. Go to the Tools menu.
3. Look for 'read only mode'.

OBSERVED RESULT
The option is missing.

EXPECTED RESULT
It must be present.

Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 35

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've used the option earlier (maybe 2 weeks back?), it looks like it went missing after an update.

Never mind, It is present in the Edit menu, not the Tools menu. The documentation (Kate Handbook) needs to be updated to reflect this.
