Description Andreas Nicolai 2022-07-21 13:35:36 UTC
SUMMARY

Using default keyboard shortcut "Alt + ." to show/hide hidden files. I press the key combination in my home dir - nothing happens. I change to some other directory and use the shortcut - now it works. Weird! It seems that only in the home directory switching hidden files via shortcut does not work. The menu item works always, regardless of current directory.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. go to home dir
2. press "Alt + ." -> should show/hide hidden files (i.e. all .xxxxxxx files)

OBSERVED RESULT
nothing happens when in home dir

EXPECTED RESULT
hide/show should work as in any other directory

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Alex Bikadorov 2024-12-05 18:13:57 UTC
Is this still an issue? I cannot reproduce it - the shortcut Alt+"." always toggles showing hidden files for me, also in the home directory.
Comment 2 Andreas Nicolai 2024-12-06 16:27:15 UTC
In the current version I'm using (2.7.2) the Alt+. seems to work reliably. I haven't changed
So maybe we can close the ticket. I'll report again if this problem pops up another time.

Thanks for getting back to me on this!
