Description David Chmelik 2022-07-15 04:44:44 UTC
SUMMARY
'Recent' ('recent files,' etc. like maybe 'recent searches,' whatever else Kicker used to have) categories are unavailable, except 'recent applications,' which is non-removable.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Upgrade KDE
2. Look to add kicker 'recent' entry ('recent files,' etc. like maybe 'recent searches,' whatever else Kicker used to have) and/or remove 'recent applications' entry.
3. Can't: only 'recent applications' exists anymore.

OBSERVED RESULT
'Recent' ('recent files,' etc. like maybe 'recent searches,' whatever else Kicker used to have) categories are unavailable (except recent applications)

EXPECTED RESULT
Return all past 'recent' entries Kicker could have and allow including & excluding all.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Slackware64 15.1-current & KDE Neon 5.25 GNU/Linuxes
KDE Plasma Version: Slackware: 5.25.3; Neon: 4:5.25.3-0xneon+20.04+focal+release+build58
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.96.0
Qt Version: 5.15.4

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I like 'recent' categories but don't use them much (for privacy) but users whose Neon PCs I administer likely like such features which make things easier.

I'm not sure I understand. In Kicker, when I go into the config window and uncheck "Recent Applications" and "Recent Files", the relevant items in Kicker disappear.

Is that what you're talking about, or is it something else?

The real problem was the particular theme (I don't normally use) had unnoticeably small scrollbars on 4K.
