Description Lemuel Simon 2022-07-05 15:00:57 UTC
SUMMARY
Double-clicking to launch AppImages, .exe's or .sh's work normally. However, right-clicking then running isn't possible as there is no 'Execute' option listed in the menu. Same with .desktop files; they work if you double-click, but you cannot right-click and execute.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Find executable file in Dolphin (already marked as executable in 'File Properties'.)
2. Right-click on executable file to show the 'right-click menu'.
3. Attempt to locate a 'Run/Execute/Launch' option in the menu.

OBSERVED RESULT
An 'execute' option is not listed in the right-click menu of the selected executable file.

EXPECTED RESULT
An 'execute' option should be listed for the user to right-click and execute the file.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I was advised to open this bug report, as I posted the issue in the wrong thread here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429603
Seems like the option did exist at some point as indicated here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357469
I can't tell when the regression occurred though.

Can confirm. The context menu has "Run in Konsole" which is not really the same thing.
