Description Al Schaapman 2022-07-02 16:41:13 UTC
SUMMARY
Users may want a larger click target for the Application Launcher (Kickoff), particularly if the applet is placed in a panel (screen edge) but not at a corner, or if there is a trigger for "Screen Edges" attached to the same corner where the applet is placed. If there were an option to display a text label next to the Application Launcher button (e.g. "Applications" or "Launcher"), the clickable area could be made larger. Users may also wish for the Application Launcher button to display descriptive text instead of an icon.

Comment 1 Al Schaapman 2022-07-02 16:48:14 UTC
An optional text label would also make Kickoff's feature set almost the same as Whisker Menu's, so users interested in migrating from the Xfce desktop would find it easier to create a panel configuration with a familiar visual organization.

Would/will be implemented with https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-desktop/-/merge_requests/1004.
