(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #3) > Can you attach some screenshots, please? PFA. Screenshots coming from today updated Neon Unstable (tested with Firefox), so in Plasma 5.25.80, but in Arch with Plasma 5.25.0 it looks the same. Can definitely reproduce this, marking confirmed. There's been some confusion between different issues in the related bug reports, so let me clarify. In bug 409980 (fixed in 5.23) the media player was taking over the window preview and window title in the widget. That doesn't happen any more, and it was the biggest source of annoyance around the widget I think. Bug 375943 is about the task manager icons having the little "audio" icon added to windows that aren't the source of the sound. This bug is about the small window previews in the two task managers showing the media control widget on all windows instead of the one playing sound. It might have the same problem source as 375943 but I think this should stay open as that bug supposedly does not have a general solution without changes to mpris, and it would be nice to apply a temporary fix to this issue if possible. Extreme (though still useful) workarounds might include (a) adding the option to disable the media player controls on window previews entirely, or (b) applying the same solution as in 409980 and only showing the controls when the window title matches the playing media. The latter would make the controls slightly less useful for tabbed browsers, but would continue to work with e.g. Amarok. Seems like it, yeah. |
