Image that show the problem I'm experiencing

SUMMARY
***
`plasma-nm` applet seems to be broken in my arch-linux installation. It shows as if I'm connected to many wifi networks (I think eveything within reach) which is obviously not true. Please find attached a screenshot that shows what I am experiencing
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install plasma-desktop and plasma-nm
2. Add the network widget to the system tray

OBSERVED RESULT
Network widget shows that I'm connected to many wifi networks

EXPECTED RESULT
Network widget must show that I'm connected to at most one network

This bug other has been marked as RESOLVED, however the problem still persist.

I observe the same bug today in Plasma 5.27.8 on Fedora 38:
 * It popup shows as if 6 duplicate Wi-Fi networks were connected
 * What is more surprising, the Wi-Fi network I'm actually connected to (I've double-checked via `nmcli c show`) is shown as not connected, i.e. it has a "Connect" button.

I see the same problem on openSUSE Tumbleweed.

My system:

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20241006
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0
Qt Version: 6.7.3
Kernel Version: 6.11.0-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Graphics Processor: Mesa IntelĀ® HD Graphics 4600
plasma6-nm 6.1.5-1.1

plasma6-nm shows - in addition to all the connections defined in /etc/NetworkManager/system- connections - six "Disconnect"-buttons without giving any further description which network connection might relate to them.

Pressing any of those "Disconnect"-buttons results in nothing.

That's correct, it's been marked as a duplicate of this bug, which tracks the false connections on other networks (connect/disconnect/loading spinner).

The extra blank networks mentioned by kannakalyan05 and shown in the second image are tracked by Bug 493116.

I forgot:

nmcli and nmtui do not show any additional connections.

Can still confirm this bug in plasma 6.2

NOTE
There seem to be as many blank (fake connected) entries as normal connection (connected to or not). So maybe they are duplicated somewhere in the code.

The current issue is tracked in bug 493116 and in unrelated to this 2 year old issue.

Still persist in KDE 6.2.3
Comment 18 kde 2024-11-09 23:38:53 UTC
This seems to be solved on the latest arch full system upgrade (as of 9th november 2024)

Qt version 6.8.0
kde plasma 6.2.3
kde framework 6.8.0
Comment 19 Nate Graham 2024-11-12 15:10:45 UTC
Right, Arch folks backported the Qt patch that fixed it.
