Description Roland Illig 2022-06-02 19:16:55 UTC
SUMMARY
During the task 'Fingerprints', the progress bar shows a thumbnail of the current image.
From time to time, this image changes to a checkmark.
There is no apparent reason for showing a checkmark. Neither is the task finished, nor is the success of a single fingerprinting operation a surprise, therefore there is no need for an icon.
The checkmark icon creates unnecessary confusion.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Generate the fingerprints of a collection of 100_000 images.

OBSERVED RESULT
Task in the progress bar sometimes shows checkmark instead of the thumbnail of the current image.

EXPECTED RESULT
No checkmark, since there is no reason for it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

A checkmark indicates that a fingerprint exists and is up to date.

Thanks for this information. Still, I don't get why having a flickering checkmark icon is useful in a progress bar.
To me, the checkmark created the impression that something relevant was completed.
Having completed the fingerprinting of a single file is just a single part of the task, there is nothing special about this that would need a separate icon.
