STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create new investment
2. Add correct trading symbol
3. Set source to Yahoo Finance
3. Tools > Update Stock and Currency Prices > Update Selected/All

OBSERVED RESULT
(using Tesla Inc. as an example):
Fetching URL https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v7/finance/quote?fields=regularMarketPrice&symbols=TSLA...
Timeout on server query1.finance.yahoo.com: Socket operation timed out
Unable to update price for TSLA (empty quote data)

EXPECTED RESULT
Price expected to be fetched and updated in KMyMoney.

Is this still happening.  A network timeout is very unlikely to be a problem with KMyMoney, but either with your network connection or a transient issue elsewhere in the Internet.  How many times have you gotten the same error, and over what period of time?  Is the network otherwise ok for you, or have you had any similar issues with other programs.  Can you browse yahoo.com ok?
