Facing the same issue. I am on windows 11 and iOS 15.4.1. I was able to get it to work just once. To make it work I had to
1. Close the app on both the devices
2. Re connect to the same network on both the devices

But after some time when my phone got locked(as it happens automatically when it stays idle for sometime), the connection between my phone and laptop was broken. The devices did not reconnect after unlocking. So I followed the steps mentioned above hoping that it would work again but this time the it did not work.

Laptop - Windows 11
Phone - iOS 15.4.1
App version - 0.2.1(2)

Update:

The behavior of the issue is different when auto-lock is disabled. That is on unlocking the phone the connection is re-established automatically. I don't have to follow the above mentioned steps to make it work

Hi! Unfortunately KDE Connect iOS currently doesn't work when the app is the background, and I'm glad you've found a workaround. There are some development on supporting background activity though, so this might be possible sometime in the future.
