SUMMARY
***

Frequently, when I open the Plasma Application menu with the "Windows key", I want to open other apps as well. I think that is more productive, time saver and better from user experience that holding down "Windows key" (or the equivalent) keeps the Plasma Application menu open until the key is released.

This way, user can open an unlimited number of apps without having to open the menu again.

***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press "Windows key" (or the equivalent).
2. Choose an app

OBSERVED RESULT

If "Windows key" is pressed once, the menu closes after openning an app.
If "Windows key" is hold down, the menu can be moved (?) without notice, but no app can be opened.

EXPECTED RESULT

If "Windows key" is hold down, the menu should allow many apps to be opened before closing.

The popup has a "pin" button in the top-right corner you can use for this. Click it while the popup is open and it'll stay open until you explicitly close it. I think that's good enough. And anyway, we wouldn't be able to implement your proposal because it would require opening the menu on press, rather than on release, and in general making keyboard shortcuts activate on release rather than press is desirable for a number of reasons.
