*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 353975 *** With respect, I don't think this is a duplicate of #353975 In that older bug, users are reporting it happening on both X11 and Wayland, where in my case it happens only in Wayland sessions, the screens are fine in X11. Additionally, in #353975 users describe the panels frozen but windows are still visible and able to move on the second monitor, but in this bug the panels are not visible, and windows are not visible in the second monitor (see the attached video). In #353975 it is suspected the cause is a crashed plasmashell, where restarting the plasmashell can fix the problem. However in this bug, the plasmashell is not crashed. Killing and restarting plasmashell does not affect the display of the monitors. I've updated to plasma 5.24.5 from Neon unstable repo this morning, and testing again, this bug is no longer occurring for me. I'm guessing this was some kind of version mismatch issue when I last updated, and it has rectified itself now when I've updated. For what it's worth, I have the exact same problem with the exact same monitor configuration. I'm running an AMD 6800xt, and Plasma 5.24.5. I don't know how long it's been this way, because I just started trying to use Wayland this week. Works fine on X11. We did a lot of multimonitor robustness work in Plasma 5.25, Any chance you could upgrade to that and see if it's any better now? I've been waiting for 5.25 to see if it fixes the issue. By the way, I just found out that it's only a problem with vertical monitors. I have one 32" in the center and a 27" on either side of it. The 32" is normal orientation, and the two 27" are vertical. When I set them all to normal, everything is fine. I can reproduce it at will at the moment. That being said, I'm running Manjaro, and I don't want to upgrade outside of the repos. However, as soon as 5.25 is available (should be no more than a few more days, I think) I'll upgrade and report back. Thanks! Good news! I updated via the Manjaro unstable branch (I'm an impatient bastard) and It seems to work properly in 5.25. Resolving. Hooray! Glad to hear it. |
