In certain situations additional sinks are required _only_ for recording stuff. 
Unfortunately, when opening some audio player, it may happen, that for some unknown reasons, these choose to use the sinks created for the recordings instead of using those for streaming sound to the speakers.

Therefore, it would be convenient to have an option 
* to restrict the output of applications to only a subset of possible outputs 
or the other way around
* to forbid applications to choose certain outputs if not explicitly set otherwise by the user.

Do you think that'd be manageable in the applet or does it required implementation of such a feature upstream in the pipewire / wireplumb stack?

Is this not a bug in those applications? Are any of them still doing it?
