Sentry Crash Report:

Description Ian 2022-04-16 10:30:35 UTC
SUMMARY

Time increment 50 years.
Stepping back crashes Kstars at around -30000.
Am trying to get to -55500, but typing that in date field gets ignored. That field seems buggy.
Would help if there were bigger steps than 50 years, eg 100, 500, 1000.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set step to 50 years
2. Step back in time repeatedly
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Crashes at around -30k or so

EXPECTED RESULT
Not crash.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5
KDE Frameworks Version: Version 5.90.0
Qt Version: Version 5.15.3 (built against 5.15.3)

I don't think KStars can be useful or accurate this long ago.

@Jasem

So noted. Kstars manual says it supports back to -100k.

Am trying to compare view with that from Skychart

Thanks, Ian
