SUMMARY

Kmail does not open URL links into the newly installed browser, despite having configured the Default Application to the new browser.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use a working system,
2. Install a new browser, like Brave or LibreWolf
3. Modify the default browser in System Settings accordingly
4. Restart kmail or reboot the computer
5. Open an URL link from within an email using kmail

OBSERVED RESULT
The originally configured browser opens the link.

EXPECTED RESULT
The newly configured browser opens the link.

Tried also by modifying ~.kde/share/config/kdeglobals
With an addition in
[General]
BrowserApplication=/usr/share/librewolf/librewolf %u
or
BrowserApplication=librewolf
As advised elsewhere.

I must mention that Kmail version is the following:
KMail 5.18.1 (21.08.1)
And on Kubuntu, it seems to be heavily modified/plugin.
