you need to manually disable autocoloring for that applet. right click Dock -> Edit Dock -> Rearrange and reconfigure your applets -> hover that specific applet-> from its tooltip disable the "drop" icon |

STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add widget to the dock (e.g., shutdown or switch). 2. Change the icon in the shutdown or switch configuration preferences. 3. Select any "Palette" option other than "Plasma Theme Colors" under the "Colors" section on the "Appearance" tab with the "Edit Dock" preferences dialog. OBSERVED RESULT Expected icon turns black or white depending on which palette option is chosen. EXPECTED RESULT Expected icon should not be shaded solid black or white.
