it is not possible to add a program from the application launch menu. If you go to the application launch menu, enter the name of the program in the search, then drag the found program into the latte panel, nothing will happen

and that is not latte fault... you will have the same issue with plasma taskmanagers also and plasma panels...
it is applets responsibility to be implemented properly...

Lie! If you add via Krunner search, thus you can add the same program that has not been added from the application launch menu

of course you can because krunner has implemented correctly its part.
