I know you mean something else by dark mode. But digiKam has dark color themes to choose from. Maik @Maik: Can you elaborate? Where woud a dark color theme be set? Wow! This is very unexpected. On macOS the shortcut to open Preferences is `cmd,` which opens `Configure`. I wasn't even expected an additional settings column in the menubar options. Think that is rather uncommon. As for the theme options I would rather expect them in view menu instead. Maybe moving the settings options to view would be a sane change and allow to get rid of the unexpected settings menu? This issue here is basically solved with this information. Maybe it should be kept for DigiKam to automatically follow the system default, which makes for a nice user experience. * no edit option: to automatically follow the system *theme default Hi Steve, The Theme settings is a long story and Linux users base (first application target since the project start, 20 years ago) is to be able to switch color theme quickly depending of the image contents workflow. Personaly, i always work with a dark theme everytime, but the users whishes is a priority. So typically, moving color themes sub-menu to configure dialog will be probematic and we will receive bug reports. We will not change this behavior. For the native color theme from macOS, I hope that next major version based on qt6 (DK 8.0.0) will improve this support. Best Gilles Caulier |
