SUMMARY
I wanted to create the database in a separate .digikam folder in the home directory. However, when I restarted, it could not access the database file anymore. It seems to be that Digikam flatpak cannot access any other folder then the pictures folder. I would like to use the pictures in other folders too.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use flatpak version
2. Click on import > folders
3. You can only see the pictures folder of your home folder.


EXPECTED RESULT
Be able to see and use other folders from the home directory

Flatpak and Snap packages use a sandbox and are therefore unusable for digiKam. We do not support either package format.
Use our AppImage from www.digikam.org.
There is a program for configuring the rights for Flatpak -> Flatseal. But you have to try this yourself, no support from our side.
