How do you have created the screenshot with the text "Multiline, Text"? The shadow gets only applied to the same "text box". Shadow is not a general title setting. If you create a new text within the title no shadow is applied. I guess the screenshot was created by just using a template title. (Personally I used this tutorial to achieve this: https://docs.kdenlive.org/en/effects_and_compositions/titles.html#template-titles-user-defined) As soon as you press "enter" when using the template to create a linebreak the observed effect happens. (The shadow gets "forgotten" in the new line, despite being in the same textbox) We made some title update lately. I tested with the latest nightly build and I guess it's fixed. I took a template with shadow text and create a new line by pressing enter and the text in the new line still has shadow. Here you can download the latest nigthly build for testing: https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_mingw64/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/ Created attachment 148404 [details]

(Unfortunately botched putting reply and attachment in sthe same comment.) Do you edit the title in the clip properties? This doesn't work. You have to click on Edit Clip in the clip properties to make your change direct in the titler. Then the shadow should appear. (In reply to emohr from comment #6) > Do you edit the title in the clip properties? This doesn't work. You have to > click on Edit Clip in the clip properties to make your change direct in the > titler. Then the shadow should appear. Yes I do that. (would like to do that) Isn't this the whole concept of a Template-Title? Pull in the Template, change the text and be done with it. If I have to open the titler than why even use the Template-Title? Now I get your point. Right click in the project bin -> Add Template Title -> put text into the left window -> click OK. Only the template text itself gets applied! It's that what you mean? If so, that’s a bug and should definitely not happen. It should take over the text format from the template to the new entered text. (In reply to emohr from comment #8) > Now I get your point. (Except the left window says Apply for me, not OK) Well, it takes over the text format perfectly for the first line and the text color seems to remain on all lines, but the text shadow only gets taken over in the first line and then there is no more shadow. (Haven't tried other effects) Fix in MLT's commit: https://github.com/mltframework/mlt/commit/964787979e76500c8f1c8eb84831cb3e79c49442 |
Created attachment 147697 [details] Observed Result SUMMARY When using a Template-Title where the template Text contains a shadow, only the first line of the Title replacing the Template has a shadow. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a template title with a shadow. 2. Use the template title created in step 1 for creating a multiline title 3. OBSERVED RESULT As can be seen, only the first line of the created title has a shadow. EXPECTED RESULT All lines of the created title should have a shadow SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows can't vow for other OS/s, but possibly all. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
