Created attachment 147649 [details] Screenshot of kfilewidget in action SUMMARY *** The maximum Icon Size is too small in Icon View in the widget on high resolution monitors. Can we please double the maximum size an icon can be made? Also, there is a lot of wasted dead space between the icons. Would it be possible to reduce the borders between the icons? Is the whole point of Icons not to display the picture as large as possible in the space it is supposed to fit in? Lastly, it would be really nice to be able to toggle the places panel on and off. For, you know, being able to fit more icons in a certain space. :) *** Currently kfilewidget is used in kdenlive as a media browser, and it performs beautifully. Of course when editing videos and photos, a high-resolution monitor becomes essential, and simply scaling the display up negates the point of getting a high resolution monitor in the first place. Fonts can be scaled up nicely, but unfortunately the maximum icon size has never been scaled up to take advantage of the larger screen real estate. :) I have attached a screenshot of it in action. On the left, there is a panel with icons of files that have been dragged into the project, and as you can see, the icons are large and tightly packed. Or the left you can see the kfilewidget, and the icon view. Even at maximum icon size, the icons are rather tiny, and huge amounts of space is wasted in between. Also, a whole column of icons can be added in if the "Places" panel could be toggled on and off.
