Description Kishore Gopalakrishnan 2022-03-20 07:53:17 UTC
SUMMARY
When you right-click on a previously unused wifi network in the applet and click 'configure', the configuration window that opens is for a new Ethernet connection, and not a new Wifi connection.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the 'Networks' applet in the system tray
2. Right click on a WiFi network that you are not connected to (and haven't used before)
3. Click 'configure'

OBSERVED RESULTS
The opened configuration window is for a new Ethernet connection (e.g. there is no field for the WiFi password, and the default name suggests it is an ethernet connection)

EXPECTED RESULTS
The appropriate configuration window should be opened for a new WiFi connection.

The widget UI no longer lets you attempt to configure networks you've never used before, so this issue is impossible to experience anymore and therefore effectively fixed.
