New to digikam. Trying to find an alternative tool for Google's abandoned Picasa Windows software including its capabilities to create a quick collage of a select number of images. Very impressed with digikam features but can't find a collage tool.

Found a few old references to the included tool called "Photo Layouts tool"   
 (see https://www.flickr.com/photos/digikam/9656136465/) that is not available on my version. 

I understand by this thread https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383082 that perhaps this was part of an old set of plugins and that is work in progress https://github.com/cgilles/digikam-photolayouteditor. I am too trying to move from Picasa that was still working on some Windows10 versiones but now is unusable.

Wondering if there are any alternatives or if it can at all be tested in Windows via that repository.

Yes, the collage plugin code from github is unstable and cannot used in production...

digiKam must support the multiple item selection of mode from the icon-view with G'Mic-Qt. It's not yet the case...

New G'MIC Generic plugin working in layer mode from the stack of images (icon-view, Editor stack,
Showfoto Stack, Light Table stack). This allow to assemble photos together,
for exemple using the Montage G'MIC filter.
