Update: I removed the flatpak and reinstalled the older snap with the white editor background. Well today I see that the look and theme of the app has updated there as well. I know dracula dark themed everything is super hot these days. But I can't see dark purple on a dark grey background. It's unusable. Please just tell me where the .config or .rc file is hidden. I can hack it that way until a fix is released. Bonus: Is this locked-on-dark something I can change in the Plasma universe? Created attachment 147563 [details]

It seems that this fun educational application has not been developed in years. The only way(s) to make it work properly are to use Sugar (SOAS), or possibly KDE in light mode. Disappointing. This application should have more support. Kids should be able to start with the building blocks turtle, and transition to the writing code version. Sad that themes render it unusable. |
Created attachment 147276 [details] What I am seeing. SUMMARY *** Just 'upgraded' by removing the snap (Ubuntu 20.04) and installing the flatpak 21.12.3. The new theme looks great; but readability suffers in the editor. The use of dark blues and purples on dark gray... well that should be pretty self explanatory. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. remove the old snap 2. install the more up to date flatpak 3. eyes hurt OBSERVED RESULT Some would say this proves the ultimate superiority of snaps. However this is not a YouTube comment. Ideally the settings would allow users to edit the color scheme easily. To better suit their tastes and monitor contrast / brightness. A more complex workaround for advanced users would be to edit a .conf file. Assuming one could find it. I'm still looking.
