SUMMARY
***
About half a year ago me and a friend gave a plasma application translation a big overhaul. Since then we are waiting to see our work appear on our desktops. But until now that didnĀ“t happen.
In my opinion this isn't motivating for translators.
I mainly use Neon, but also Kubuntu and opensuse tumbleweed. My friend is a real Debian fan. But neither of us have seen our translation in our distributions.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make a translation
2. submit it with SVN
3. wait for it to appear on your desktop

OBSERVED RESULT
After half a year: none

EXPECTED RESULT
Within a reasonable amount of time, the new translation comes to the user.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Freek de Kruijf 2022-02-28 12:08:42 UTC
I checked the content of the file /usr/share/locale/nl/LC_MESSAGES/latte-dock.mo from packet latte-dock-lang on openSUSE Tumbleweed and found the following strings in that file:
Project-Id-Version:
Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: https://bugs.kde.org
PO-Revision-Date: 2021-12-08 11:20+0100
Last-Translator: Freek de Kruijf <freekdekruijf@kde.nl>
Language-Team: Dutch <kde-i18n-nl@kde.org>
Language: nl
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
Plural-Forms: nplurals=2; plural=n != 1;
X-Generator: Lokalize 21.08.3

So at least openSUSE Tumbleweed contains a very recent version with your translation from 2021.

The file nl/messages/latte-dock/latte-dock.po contains:
# Copyright (C) YEAR This_file_is_part_of_KDE
# This file is distributed under the same license as the PACKAGE package.
#
# Freek de Kruijf <freekdekruijf@kde.nl>, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022.

So it is not the most recent, but your translations are there.

So this is not a valid bug report for KDE and also not for openSUSE. Maybe other distributions lag behind to include the latest translations.
You may inspect the above mentioned .mo file for the above shown information to what version of the .po is included. This inspections is done with the utility "strings".
