When I installed Elisa, i noticed that it installed the whole VLC package along with it. I'm not sure if this was just because of arch linux packaging or Elisa depends on it. If it's the latter, has support for other backends other than VLC like ffmpeg, mpv been considered? My reasoning being because I don't want another fully featured media player on my system if I already use one that's not VLC

Please ask Arch to split libvlc from the vlc package
