I just just clicked enter when trying to search and it crashed (every single time, using the global menu)

Crash appears to be 100% in Qt and we don't have debug symbols, not sure there's any way for us to debug this, sorry. In the future please try to get a symbolicated backtrace; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
