I can reproduce it in both X11 and wayland sessions as well. Likely because of the triangle filter. Maybe I can find a way to move the scrollbar out of the triangle filter area or maybe we can find ways to improve the triangle filter. indeed seems the filter. if the mose enters the scrollbar from the right side, then it highlights immediately (and on that direction doesn't pass on the filter Created attachment 158010 [details]
Kickoff - unresponsive left pane item hovering
I think this same issue causes unresponsive hovering on the actual items in the left pane as well (see my attached video) which can get a little annoying at times due to the category not being picked up correctly by a fast moving cursor. This only seems to be an issue when the cursor is far enough to the right (e.g. hovering over the icons or category names is nice and responsive). This occurs in both the Applications and Places views.
This has been improved a lot lately and also for Plasma 6, but I'm afraid it's never going to be 100% as responsive as the list items in the main view, which don't have a triangle filter attached to them. In other words, for Plasma 6, it's now as fixed as we can manage. |
Created attachment 146688 [details] screen capture that demonstrates this SUMMARY The scrollbar in the left pane of the application launcher is slow to respond to the cursor hovering over it. This gives a sense of sluggishness. Curiously, it doesn't happen with the scrollbar in the right pane, or when moving the cursor back from the right pane over the left pane's scrollbar.
