Description Contijn Buijs 2022-02-11 14:40:28 UTC
SUMMARY
I have 2 DisplayPort monitors. I have a third that is my TV (HDMI) that goes on and off during the day. Everytime my TV goes on or off, the audio profile gets reset to stereo. I want it at 5.1. It worked fine with 5.23, but since 5.24 this bug happens.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set audio profile to 5.1 (or anything that isn't the default stereo).
2. Turn a display off (for me, that is my TV).
3. KDE notices a display change and does it's thing, and then my audio profile is reset to stereo.

OBSERVED RESULT
KDE forget's the chosen audio profile after a display layout change.

EXPECTED RESULT
I expected KDE to remember the chosen audio profile (it worked fine with 5.23).

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch (EndeavourOS)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90
Qt Version: 5.15.2

This is most likely not an issue with Plasma but with PulseAudio or Pipewire (depending on what you are using). Please report this there
